Student Experience

Completing stage 1 and 2 Earth and Enviro has been so rewarding, as the course explores a diverse range of topics, and deepened my appreciation of the world around me. My favourite part of the courses were the excursions, and all the fun practicals!

EES Activities

The Stage 1 Earth and Environmental Science class was treated to an incursion with Dr Felicity Coutts. The students were lead by Dr Coutts through life on our planet starting from early fossil identification through to the opalization of fossils in an ancient ocean that covered much of Australia’s current land mass. The students then took the knowledge they gained and used it to identify fossils on a field trip to Port Willunga the following week.

Teacher Experience

Having taught Year 11 and 12 EES for the past 2 years, I have loved the discussions on climate change with my students, as well as their engagement on what we can do to help reduce the impact of climate change, as well as how our lives can be more environmentally sustainable. It gives me confidence that our planet is in good hands.
